How often should a chimney be swept in Columbus?

NFPA 211 calls for a chimney inspection every year and a sweep whenever creosote builds up past 1/8 inch. For most Columbus homes burning 2 to 3 cords a winter, that means a sweep every autumn.

What is a Level 2 chimney inspection?

A Level 2 inspection adds a video camera run through the full length of the flue, plus the attic, crawlspace and roofline. It is required when a home is sold, after a chimney fire, or when you change fuel or appliance.

How much does a chimney sweep cost with FlueGuard?

A standard sweep with a Level 1 inspection is $219 for one flue in our service area. Each extra flue on the same stack is $89. The price is confirmed in writing before we start.
